Kandivali gears up for BMC’s tree trimming drive from Apr 21-26; residents advised to cooperate

Daijiworld Media Network- Mumbai

Mumbai, Apr 19: As part of its pre-monsoon preparedness, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a week-long tree trimming drive in the R/South Ward, covering Kandivali East and West. The initiative, aimed at ensuring public safety and preserving the city’s green cover, will be carried out from April 21 to April 26.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), BMC appealed to residents and motorists to avoid parking on specific roads during the drive to prevent delays and ensure smooth operations. Parked vehicles may hinder the trimming process and pose risks to workers and property alike.

Tree Trimming Locations:

In Kandivali West, the drive will cover:

• Bunder Pakhadi Road

• Shantilal Modi Road

In Kandivali East, trimming will be conducted on:

• Corporation Bank Road

• Suffire Height Road

• Thakur Stadium Road

• Thakur Village

To enhance public awareness and transparency, the BMC will begin sharing daily schedules from April 21 through displays at ward offices and updates on official social media channels.

Tree trimming is one of Mumbai’s vital pre-monsoon activities, aimed at removing weak or dangerously overhanging branches to minimize the risk of tree collapses during heavy rains.

The civic body has requested full cooperation from residents to ensure the drive’s success and uphold community safety.
