Seoul, May 24: Popular South Korean actor Park Bo-gum has opened up about his admiration for I-DLE member Minnie, revealing he was captivated by her voice during their first collaboration two years ago. The heartfelt revelation came during the latest episode of his music talk show The Seasons – Park Bo-gum’s Cantabile, which aired on Friday night.

Bo-gum recalled his first meeting with Minnie during the Music Bank World Tour, where they performed Remember Me together. “I played the piano and you sang,” he said. “We didn’t even have time to rehearse, but when I heard Minnie’s voice through the in-ear monitor, I was completely taken in.”

The actor also expressed his fondness for I-DLE’s music, revealing that he often listens to their songs during his workout sessions. He singled out Senorita as one of his favourites, calling it “really good.”

I-DLE, who appeared as special guests on the show, discussed their recent rebranding from (G)I-DLE to simply I-DLE. Bo-gum acknowledged the change, saying, “It’s not an easy feat to change a group name.”

Formed in 2018, I-DLE comprises five members—Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua—following Soojin’s departure in 2021. The group debuted with Latata and has since delivered a string of hits including Tomboy, Nxde, Queencard, and Super Lady.

Park Bo-gum, who rose to fame with Reply 1988, has starred in several popular dramas and films. In addition to his acting career, he ventured into music with his Japanese album Blue Bird in 2020. His latest appearances include When Life Gives You Tangerines and Good Boy, both released in 2025.
