New Delhi, May 30: Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi-starrer Bhool Chuk Maaf is proving to be a slow-burn success at the box office. The quirky time-loop romantic comedy ended its first week on a strong note, collecting an estimated Rs 3.25 crore on Day 7, taking the film’s total earnings to an impressive Rs 44 crore, as per early figures reported by Sacnilk.
The film, which hit theatres on May 23, had a modest opening but gained momentum swiftly over the weekend. Sunday emerged as the film’s best day, raking in Rs 11 crore. While weekdays saw expected dips, the collections remained steady — with Rs 4.5 crore each on Monday and Tuesday, followed by Rs 3.5 crore on Wednesday and Rs 3.25 crore on Thursday.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh commended the film’s consistency despite the conclusion of special ticket pricing mid-week. Posting on social media platform X, he remarked, “The film held up very well on Wednesday, despite regular pricing and no promotional offers. Thursday is expected to show similar stability.”
According to box office trends, the film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 11.19% on Thursday, with the highest turnout observed during the night shows — a sign of growing audience interest through positive word-of-mouth.
Directed by debutant Karan Sharma, Bhool Chuk Maaf follows the story of Ranjan (Rajkummar Rao), a nervous groom who finds himself trapped in a time loop on the eve of his wedding to Titli (Wamiqa Gabbi). The film also features seasoned actors Sanjay Mishra, Raghubir Yadav, and Seema Pahwa in pivotal roles. Produced jointly by Amazon MGM Studios and Maddock Films, the film blends humour, fantasy, and emotional depth, setting it apart in the rom-com genre.
With its unique narrative and strong performances, Bhool Chuk Maaf is now well on track to breach the Rs 50-crore mark, likely within the second weekend. For a film with a relatively niche concept, its box office journey so far is being hailed as a quiet triumph.
