Govinda unveils new look, fans confused if it's really him

Mumbai, Jun 21: Bollywood’s ‘Hero No. 1’ Govinda stunned fans on Friday with a fresh new avatar shared on Instagram—but the makeover left many wondering if it was really him.

Sporting a sharp moustache, thick hair, oversized sunglasses and a tweed three-piece suit, the 90s star looked almost unrecognisable. What added to the surprise was the odd choice of a background—seemingly littered with trash—which drew mixed reactions.

While most fans praised his appearance and urged him to make a long-overdue comeback, others were left puzzled. “Sir aap kab karoge comeback,” one fan pleaded. Another commented, “Ky bat h, old energy.” Compliments poured in calling him “Bollywood hero number 1” and admiring the moustache.

However, a few fans and influencers doubted if the person in the picture was Govinda at all. “Damn bro, you look almost 90% of Govinda,” remarked YouTuber Maxtern. Others joked, “Original bhi nakli sa lag raha hai,” with some saying he resembled actor Raza Murad or even Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis.

Govinda’s loyal fans were quick to confirm that the image did feature the actor himself, defending his signature style and presence.

Once a top name in Bollywood during the 90s, Govinda’s career faded in the early 2000s despite multiple comeback attempts. Recently, his wife Sunita Ahuja blamed the actor’s current inner circle for his stalled career, claiming he is now surrounded by yes men who fail to offer honest feedback.

Whether this new look signals a genuine return to the screen remains to be seen—but it has certainly reignited fan interest.
