Los Angeles, Jun 25: The trailer for Roofman, starring Channing Tatum and based on the real-life story of felon Jeffrey Manchester, has been released. Directed by Derek Cianfrance, the film follows the former Army Ranger who famously robbed over 60 McDonald’s outlets by entering through their roofs.

After escaping prison, Manchester lived secretly inside a Toys ’R’ Us store in North Carolina, where he fell in love with a single mother, played by Kirsten Dunst. But as he tried to start a new life, his past caught up with him.

Set in 2004, the film also stars Ben Mendelsohn, LaKeith Stanfield, Juno Temple, Uzo Aduba, and Jimmy O. Yang. Tatum, who also serves as executive producer, said he felt emotional pressure playing a real person and described Manchester as “a beautiful and unfortunate soul.”

Roofman is produced by Paramount Pictures in association with Miramax, FilmNation Entertainment, and Von Waaden Entertainment.
