Mumbai, Jul 23: In a deeply disturbing incident reported from Mulund West, a 14-year-old girl has alleged prolonged sexual abuse at the hands of her own father, two brothers, and a known acquaintance. The abuse is said to have continued for nearly eleven months, from January to November 2024.
Mulund police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and arrested three adult accused on Monday. A minor accused has been sent to a juvenile correctional facility.

According to police sources, the girl was staying with her family in Mulund West when the alleged abuse began. She was reportedly assaulted by her 41-year-old father, her 18 and 16-year-old brothers, and a 57-year-old family acquaintance.
The case came to light after the victim, who was earlier placed in a juvenile correctional facility due to a separate case, confided in the superintendent about the repeated abuse she had suffered. The matter was immediately brought to the attention of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), which recorded her statement and informed the Mulund police.
Based on the victim’s statement, police arrested the father, elder brother, and the acquaintance. All three have been remanded to police custody till July 28. The 16-year-old brother has been sent to a juvenile home.
Shockingly, police said the girl had earlier filed another complaint in November 2024 against three other individuals — including a minor boy from the same area — for alleged sexual assault. All accused in that case were also arrested.
Police revealed that the father is a habitual alcoholic and has a previous case of theft registered against him.
Investigations are ongoing, and authorities have assured that the child will receive all necessary care and protection.
