Mumbai, Aug 9: Celebrated filmmaker SS Rajamouli has stirred excitement among fans with a special message on the occasion of Mahesh Babu’s birthday, promising a groundbreaking reveal from their upcoming magnum opus slated for release in 2027.

In a heartfelt social media post, Rajamouli shared, “Dear cinema lovers in India and around the world, as well as fans of Mahesh, it has been a while since we began shooting, and we appreciate your eagerness to know about the film.” He added that the story and scale of the project are so vast that “mere pictures or press conferences cannot do it justice.”

The filmmaker revealed the team is preparing “something to showcase the essence, depth, and immersive world we are creating,” which will be unveiled in November 2025 as a “NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN reveal.”

Mahesh Babu also shared the first poster on his social media, thanking fans and expressing his eagerness for the November event.

The film, tentatively titled SSMB29, is an action-adventure blending history and mythology, shot extensively in Odisha on a lavish budget. Notably, Rajamouli has opted for a new cinematographer instead of his longtime collaborator KK Senthil Kumar.

The cast includes Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran alongside Mahesh Babu. Rumours suggest Mahesh will perform his own stunts without a body double, adding to the anticipation.

Fans can look forward to the official reveal later this year, as Rajamouli gears up to take storytelling to new heights with this ambitious project.
