‘Kingdom’ faces sharp decline in second week

Mumbai, Aug 12: Vijay Deverakonda’s much-hyped release Kingdom, directed by Jersey fame Gowtam Tinnanuri, is witnessing a steep fall in collections during its second week at the box office.

After a strong start, the film’s earnings have dropped considerably. As per early estimates from trade tracker Sacnilk, Kingdom collected only Rs 26 lac on its second Monday (Day 12), taking its total domestic collection to Rs 50.94 cr across all languages.

In its first week, the film raked in Rs 47.35 cr, with Rs 43.7 cr from the Telugu version and Rs 3.65 cr from the Tamil version. However, the second week started with lower figures — Rs 1 cr on Friday (Day 9), Rs 1.25 cr on Saturday (Day 10) and Rs 1.08 cr on Sunday (Day 11).

On Monday, Aug 11, the film recorded an overall Telugu occupancy of 12.81%. Morning shows registered 13.04%, rising to 14.67% in the afternoon, before dropping to 12.16% in the evening and 11.36% at night.
