Actress-singer Chandana's 'In His Name' video song pays musical tribute to Pahalgam terror victims

Bengaluru, Aug 19: Actress and singer Chandana Ananthakrishna has struck an emotional chord with audiences through her newly released video song "In His Name"a poignant tribute to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack.

Released on Independence Day, the video captures the grief and shock of the 2023 incident in Jammu & Kashmir, where a honeymooning husband was brutally killed in front of his newlywed wife during a terrorist ambush on tourists.

Moved by the tragedy, Chandana not only performed in the video but also lent her voice and produced the song. The music video, which portrays the emotional journey of a young bride coping with sudden loss, has garnered widespread appreciation from both the public and the film fraternity.

Renowned Kannada actor Kiccha Sudeep lauded the effort, reportedly praising its emotional depth and narrative execution. MP Tejasvi Surya acknowledged the video on Twitter, while superstar Shivarajkumar shared it on his Instagram story, further amplifying its reach.

Speaking to the media, Chandana shared, “It feels like I’m on the moon. This was a complete team effort, and I’m overwhelmed by the love it has received. I didn’t create this for money – the story mattered. When the directors shared the concept, I immediately felt I needed to invest in it.”

The soulful music has been composed by Mayur Ambekallu, and the video has been co-directed by Tejas Kiran and Mayur. Alongside Chandana, actors Nidarshan and Sandeep Raj Gopal have portrayed the tragic storyline with sensitivity.
