Mumbai, Aug 29: Bollywood has given fans several memorable on-screen friendships, and among the most iconic was the pairing of Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha. Their camaraderie shone in films like Shaan, Kala Patthar, Dostana and Naseeb.
What many may not know is that in Naseeb (1981), the younger version of Shatrughan Sinha was played by none other than filmmaker Anees Bazmee.
Long before emerging as one of Bollywood’s top directors, Bazmee had worked as a child actor. In 2022, he surprised fans by sharing a throwback photograph from the sets of Naseeb, revealing that he had essayed the role of young Shatrughan Sinha in the Manmohan Desai classic.
Recalling the scene, Bazmee said his character, belonging to a wealthy family, was leaving for London to pursue studies. Before departing, he shares an emotional farewell with Master Tito, who played the younger version of Amitabh Bachchan.
Directed by Manmohan Desai, Naseeb went on to become a blockbuster, featuring a powerhouse ensemble including Amitabh Bachchan, Shatrughan Sinha, Hema Malini, Rishi Kapoor, Reena Roy, Pran, Kader Khan, Amjad Khan, Prem Chopra, Shakti Kapoor and Amrish Puri.
