New Delhi, Sep 9: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday said it will issue an injunction to safeguard the personality rights of actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan after she complained of her images being morphed and misused online.

Senior advocate Sandeep Sethi, representing the actress, told the court that her likeness was being exploited without consent, including on merchandise, coffee mugs, and fake pornographic content. “I am enforcing my publicity and personality rights. These pictures were never hers, they were created by artificial intelligence. Some intimate photographs are completely unrealistic. Her name and likeness are being misused to fulfill someone’s sexual desires,” Sethi argued.

The counsel also produced screenshots from YouTube showing AI-generated content. The court noted Google’s submission that such links were previously shared and removed in other cases, including one related to Andaz Apna Apna.

Justice Tejas Kariya directed that flagged links be removed immediately and said the order would be uploaded by Tuesday evening. Separate injunctions will also be issued against each respondent involved in the misuse.
