Mumbai, Sep 13: Bollywood megastar Salman Khan, currently in Leh shooting for his upcoming war drama Battle of Galwan, paid a courtesy visit to Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, at the Raj Niwas on Saturday.
Photographs shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) captured the moment as Salman, dressed casually in a blue shirt and jeans, shared a warm exchange with the LG. The meeting was marked by a special gesture from the Governor, who presented the actor with a traditional Thangka canvas — a vibrant painting depicting the life of Buddha in classic Buddhist artistic style.
The Office of the Lieutenant Governor later posted about the interaction, noting the actor’s visit to the Raj Niwas during his Ladakh schedule.
Earlier this week, Salman had given fans a behind-the-scenes peek from the film’s set, posting a photo of himself looking through a clapperboard. In the image, he was seen wearing combat fatigues featuring the old Personal Camouflage Disruptive Pattern Material (PC DPM), aligning with the film’s timeline set during the 2020–2021 Galwan Valley standoff between Indian and Chinese troops. Notably, that uniform was later replaced by the Indian Army's new INCAM camouflage, unveiled in January 2022.
Battle of Galwan is based on the brutal hand-to-hand combat that erupted in the Galwan Valley in 2020, a rare and deadly clash in a firearm-restricted zone between Indian and Chinese soldiers — the first to result in fatalities in the region in over four decades.
The film’s music is being composed by Himesh Reshammiya, though the official release date remains under wraps.
