RGP chief Manoj Parab booked for obstruction, calls FIR politically driven

Panaji, Sep 30: An FIR has been filed against Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) President Manoj Parab at the Colvale Police Station in connection with an alleged obstruction case. Parab’s statement was officially recorded by the police earlier this morning.

In response, Parab dismissed the FIR as a politically motivated move, accusing Goa Minister Nilkant Halarnkar of using police action out of fear. “We have become stronger now. Minister Halarnkar is scared of us. He hasn’t slept for the past four days, which is why he filed a police complaint against me,” Parab said defiantly. “This FIR will not impact our mission. Our work for the people will go on.”

RGP MLA Viresh Borkar echoed Parab’s remarks, stating that the FIR came after RGP members confronted Minister Halarnkar with questions. “The BJP government is clearly trying to suppress our voice. But we will not be intimidated. It’s not us who are afraid — it’s Minister Halarnkar who fears our growing support,” Borkar said.

As of now, no further details have been released by the police regarding the nature of the obstruction case or any planned legal action.
