Panaji, Oct 6: Highlighting growing public frustration over the deteriorating condition of roads in Goa, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Monday launched the ‘BJP Che Burak’ campaign — a state-wide initiative aimed at pressuring the government into taking urgent corrective measures.
The campaign, which translates to “BJP’s Faults,” gathered over one lakh signatures from local residents, reflecting widespread anger over pothole-ridden, poorly maintained roads that have become a daily hazard for commuters. The signed petitions have been formally submitted to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, with AAP demanding immediate repairs and sustained maintenance.

Calling the roads a “blot on Goa’s image,” Kejriwal stated that the condition of infrastructure in the state has not only put lives at risk but has also dented the state’s reputation as a premier tourist destination. He called for accountability and efficient governance, stating that citizens should not have to suffer due to administrative neglect.
In response, chief minister Sawant acknowledged the issue and assured the public that road repairs would begin immediately, with a target to complete the work within 15 days. He added that the government is committed to addressing citizen grievances and that instructions have already been issued to relevant departments for priority action.
The campaign marks a fresh round of political pressure on the BJP-led state government ahead of upcoming civic and assembly elections, with AAP positioning itself as a voice for everyday Goans.
