Udupi: Mount Rosary English Medium School celebrates Kannada Rajyotsava

Udupi, Nov 7: Mount Rosary English Medium School, Santhekatte, Kannada Association celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava at school premises.

Fr Rohan Mascarenhas, assistant parish priest of Mount Rosary Church, inaugurated the event and said, “Even though we use English as our professional language, Kannada must remain the language of our hearts. Only through the daily use of Kannada can our literature, newspapers, films, and songs stay alive. Kannada should become the very breath of our lives.”

School headmistress Sr Ancilla presided over the event. In her address, she urged everyone not to treat Kannada merely as a subject of study but to embrace it as a part of daily life, in thought, word, and spirit.

As part of the celebration marking 52 glorious years of Karnataka statehood, student Srinidhi presented a detailed account of 52 significant achievements of Karnataka. The students showcased group songs, skits, and dances highlighting the richness of Kannada culture.

Students Anish and Vaishnavi compered the programme, while Suprabha welcomed the gathering and Varneeka proposed the vote of thanks.

Kannada association director Alwyn Danty and Shobha, association president Anvith Poojary, and teachers Sumangala, Nancy, and Anita were present and extended their support.
