Mumbai, Nov 14: Amitabh Bachchan has sharply condemned the invasion of privacy faced by the Deol family amid veteran actor Dharmendra’s ill-health, calling the behaviour of those responsible “disturbing and disgusting.”
In a strongly worded note on his blog, Bachchan wrote:
“No ethics… no sense of responsibility… just an avenue of personal gain, without any consideration of the moment… Disturbing and disgusting…”

His reaction came after a video—reportedly filmed secretly by a hospital staffer—showed an ailing Dharmendra with his family inside Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. The clip circulated across social media platforms without the family’s knowledge. The staffer who recorded the video is now under investigation for breaching confidentiality.
Dharmendra, who was recently discharged, is currently recovering at his residence. Bachchan was seen driving past the Deol home on the day his Sholay co-star returned from the hospital.
Meanwhile, several celebrities have spoken out against the growing insensitivity of paparazzi and onlookers. A visibly upset Sunny Deol was seen scolding photographers earlier this week, asking them bluntly, “Aren’t you guys ashamed?”
A day earlier, Jaya Bachchan also expressed frustration while attending an event with daughter Shweta. As photographers rushed toward her, creating commotion, Jaya snapped, saying:
“Aap log photo lo, badtameezi mat karo… Chup raho, munh band rakho, photo lo.”
(You people take your pictures, but don’t be ill-mannered. Keep quiet, shut your mouth and take photos.)
The moment went viral, with social-media users recalling a recent resurfaced clip where Jaya, blocked by fans and photographers after a prayer meet, remarked sarcastically, “Chaliye aap log bhi saath mein.”
Celebrities including Nikitin Dheer and Farah Khan Ali have also voiced frustration over the paparazzi’s growing disregard for boundaries, reigniting the debate on privacy, consent and dignity in the age of constant surveillance.
