Vishal wraps 17-night climax shoot for Magudam, moves into final phase

Daijiworld Media Network - Chennai

Chennai, Nov 17: Actor-filmmaker Vishal announced on Monday that the massive climax sequence of his upcoming film Magudam (also titled Makutam) has been successfully completed, marking a major milestone in the film’s production.

Sharing a behind-the-scenes video on X, Vishal wrote:

“Climax Sequence: DONE. 17 days. Non-stop. High-voltage action. #Magudam / #Makutam enters its next phase.”

The climax — one of the biggest action stretches attempted in his career — was filmed over 17 consecutive night shoots. The sequence reportedly involved 100 stunt performers and over 800 crew members, highlighting its scale and ambition.

Earlier this month, visuals released by Vishal Film Factory had already hinted at the enormity of the climax block, showcasing elaborate stunt choreography and heavy technical setups.

Vishal’s Directorial Debut in Full Swing

Magudam also marks Vishal’s debut as a director. He recently confirmed taking over the reins after creative differences with original director Ravi Arasu. Sources said the shift was driven by Vishal’s commitment to the film’s vision rather than compulsion.

Dubbing for the film has begun, and post-production is progressing in parallel.

Cast & Crew

The film stars Vishal alongside Dushara Vijayan and Anjali. Dushara has already wrapped her portions. After completing a major schedule in Ooty, the team is now finishing the final leg of shooting in Chennai’s TR Gardens.

Magudam features a strong technical lineup:

• Richard M. Nathan — Cinematography
• G.V. Prakash Kumar — Music
• NB Srikanth — Editing
• Durairaj — Art Direction
• Vasuki Bhaskar — Costume Design

Vishal began shooting for his 35th film on August 1 in Chennai. With the action-heavy climax now wrapped, the project is moving swiftly toward completion.
