Mumbai, Nov 21: The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) is set to question social media personality Orry (Orhan Awatramani) after his name surfaced during the interrogation of a recently deported drug trafficker linked to fugitive underworld operative Salim Dola.

According to investigators, Mohammad Salim Mohammad Suhail Shaikh, who was deported from the UAE and arrested on November 5, told police that he had organised lavish rave parties in Mumbai and Dubai. He claimed that these events were attended by several Bollywood celebrities, political figures, and members of the Dawood Ibrahim network.

During interrogation, Shaikh alleged that attendees at these parties included Orry, actors Nora Fatehi, Shraddha Kapoor, her brother Siddharth Kapoor, filmmakers Abbas-Mustan, rapper Loka, and NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique. He also claimed the participation of the son of Dawood’s late sister Haseena Parkar. Police have clarified that these statements are yet to be verified.

Orry's representative appeared before ANC officials on Thursday and informed them that he was out of Mumbai. He assured officers that Orry would be able to join the investigation after November 25, following which the ANC will schedule his questioning.

The case originated in August 2022, when police arrested Mohammad Shahrukh Mohammad Shafi Shaikh from Nagpada and seized mephedrone worth ?1.19 lakh. Subsequent arrests led to a major breakthrough in March 2024, when a mephedrone-manufacturing facility was busted in Sangli district. Police say the unit was allegedly operated by Dawood aide Salim Dola along with his son Tahe, who was deported in June, and relative Mustaffa Mohammad Khubbawala, deported in July.

Investigators say that the recently arrested Mohammad Salim Shaikh admitted to establishing multiple drug-manufacturing units and running networks for substances including cocaine, MDMA, hashish, charas and mephedrone.

The ANC has stated that it will first question Orry based on Shaikh’s claims and then decide whether other celebrities or political names mentioned during interrogation need to be summoned.
