Bengaluru, Nov 23: The upcoming big-budget Kannada film Mahakali is already making waves, and actress Bhumi Shetty — who plays the title role — has become the centre of attention after an AI-generated video of her Mahakali avatar went viral.

Bhumi, who has undergone extensive preparation to portray Mahakali, recently shared the striking AI video on her Instagram page. Though not created by the film’s production team, the video is based entirely on the official Mahakali poster released earlier. The AI work has been crafted by Jai Pirabakaran, an AI artist and creative director, whose interpretation captures the fierce Rudravatar of the goddess with remarkable detail. Viewers have praised the video heavily, flooding the comment section with appreciation.

The filmmakers had earlier unveiled Bhumi’s official poster, giving audiences their first glimpse of her powerful transformation as Mahakali. The AI video has only amplified the buzz around the project, with many assuming it was produced by the film team due to its quality.

Directed by Pooja Aparna Kolluru, Mahakali features Bhumi Shetty in the lead role, portraying the divine warrior form. Bollywood actor Akshaye Khanna plays Shukracharya, and his character poster too received significant attention upon release.

The film’s production is underway and is expected to be completed by December 2025, with a likely release in 2026. Music is composed by Smaran Sai, while HanuMan director Prashanth Varma is backing the project and has penned the story.

With strong visuals, a powerful cast, and mounting anticipation, Mahakali is shaping up to be one of the most-awaited films in Kannada cinema.
