Panaji, Nov 28: Superstar Rajinikanth was honoured at the closing ceremony of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa on Friday, marking his remarkable 50-year journey in cinema. The audience rose to their feet as the legendary actor took the stage, acknowledging their applause with folded hands and a warm smile.
Actor Ranveer Singh, who was also present at the ceremony, described it as “impossible” to sum up Rajinikanth’s greatness. “I am too small to be speaking about this level of greatness. All I can say is that I am looking forward to Jailer 2!” he said. Ranveer then delivered the iconic “Hukum!” dialogue from the film, prompting the crowd to echo it back, drawing another smile from Rajinikanth.

Rajinikanth, one of Indian cinema’s most enduring and influential stars, made his debut in Apoorva Ragangal (1975). From playing negative roles in his early years to becoming a pan-India superstar with unmatched fan following, his journey remains legendary.
Upcoming projects
In recent years, Rajinikanth has delivered major hits including Lal Salaam, Vettaiyan, and the 2024 blockbuster Coolie, which grossed Rs 518 cr worldwide.
He is currently filming Jailer 2, the sequel to his 2023 hit in which he plays ‘Tiger’ Muthuvel Pandian. Ramya Krishnan, Shiva Rajkumar (in a cameo), and Balakrishna are also part of the cast.
Rajinikanth is additionally set to collaborate with Kamal Haasan for another much-anticipated project, adding excitement among fans across the country.
