Rohit Shetty hails ‘Dhurandhar’ as film storms past Rs 200 cr mark

Mumbai, Dec 12: The film industry is showering praise on team Dhurandhar, which has delivered a sensational run at the box office by crossing the Rs 200-crore milestone in just one week. Celebrating the film’s success, director Rohit Shetty took to social media to laud Aditya Dhar and the entire team.

“Take a bow, Aditya Dhar and team… You have created a monster. Ranveer, mere bhai… apna time aagaya. Happy to see Akshaye getting the love and respect he deserved for years,” Shetty wrote. He also recalled watching Uri with Dhar before its release, calling his journey from Uri to Dhurandhar “truly inspiring.”

Box office juggernaut

According to Sacnilk, Dhurandhar earned around Rs 27 crore on December 11, taking its total to Rs 207.25 crore. The film posted a blockbuster opening weekend with Rs 103 crore in three days — Rs 28 crore on Friday, Rs 32 crore on Saturday and a powerful Rs 43 crore on Sunday.

The weekday collections remained robust:

• Monday: Rs 23.25 crore
• Tuesday: Rs 27 crore (crossing Rs 150 crore)
• Wednesday: Rs 27 crore (touching Rs 180 crore)
• Thursday: another Rs 27 crore, taking the tally to approx. Rs 207.25 crore

About the film

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar released on December 5 and features an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi. The makers have announced that the sequel is slated to release on March 19, 2026.
