Chennai, Dec 16: The much-anticipated pan-Indian film Vrusshabha, starring Mohanlal in the lead, has taken a major step toward release with the unveiling of its official trailer on Tuesday. Directed by Nanda Kishore, the film promises a sweeping saga that blends mythology, reincarnation, and high-octane drama across eras.

Sharing the trailer on social media, Mohanlal simply wrote, “#Vrusshabha official trailer,” setting off excitement among fans. The visuals open with the line, “The past never dies. It bleeds into every birth,” immediately establishing the film’s central theme — a destiny that transcends time.

The trailer hints at Mohanlal’s character being haunted by recurring visions of violence and war, prompting questions about memories that refuse to fade. As the narrative unfolds, it is revealed that he was once King Vijayendra Vrusshabha in a previous life, a ruler bound by an unfinished battle and an oath to confront a young challenger on the battlefield. That ancient rivalry, the trailer suggests, continues into the present through reincarnation.

Adding emotional depth to the action-heavy visuals is the strong father-son dynamic. While enemies seek vengeance, the king’s son stands fiercely by his side, declaring his willingness to fight and die to protect his father. The conflict, layered with loyalty, sacrifice, and inherited fate, forms the emotional core of the film.

The makers describe Vrusshabha as a grand epic that explores the unbreakable bond between a father and son, tested by forces rooted in the past. The story unfolds across two timelines — the splendour of a historic kingdom and the intensity of the modern world.

Written and directed by Nanda Kishore, the film is presented by Connekkt Media in association with Balaji Telefilms and has been shot simultaneously in Malayalam and Telugu. Alongside Mohanlal, the ensemble cast includes Samarjit Lankesh, Nayan Sarika, Ragini Dwivedi, Ajay, Neha Saxena, Vinay Varma, Garuda Ram, Ali, Kishore, and Ayyappa P Sharma.

Vrusshabha is slated for a theatrical release on December 25, setting the stage for a festive box-office clash packed with action, mythology, and emotion.
