Mumbai, Feb 5: Veteran actor Nana Patekar once again proved why he is regarded as one of the most committed performers in Indian cinema, shooting an intense action sequence for his upcoming film O’Romeo despite suffering from a high fever of 102 degrees Fahrenheit.
The incident took place during the filming of a high-octane train sequence for the Vishal Bhardwaj-directed film. Recalling the moment, Bhardwaj said the team was taken aback when they learned that Patekar was unwell in the middle of the shoot.

“While we were filming the action sequence on the train set, I was informed that Nana Sir had a 102-degree fever,” the director said. “We immediately called a doctor, who advised giving him an injection and clearly said he should not shoot.”
However, Patekar was unwilling to halt the production. According to Bhardwaj, the actor insisted on completing the sequence, saying he could not bear the thought of the shoot or location being cancelled because of him.
“For the next four hours, he continued shooting with us,” Bhardwaj said. “His body was so warm that we could feel the heat just by touching his forehead. Between takes, he would lie down on the train set, but the moment he got up to perform, it felt as if the illness had completely disappeared.”
Calling it a testament to Patekar’s dedication, the filmmaker added, “This is the commitment of a truly great artist.”
O’Romeo, inspired by true events, promises a powerful blend of action, emotion, and compelling performances. The film has already generated buzz with the release of its song Ishq Ka Fever.
The soulful romantic track is sung by Arijit Singh, composed by Vishal Bhardwaj, and penned by lyricist Gulzar. Featuring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, the song opens with a striking line delivered by Farida Jalal before unfolding into an intimate, aching melody that has resonated with listeners.
Presented by Sajid Nadiadwala and produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, O’Romeo is helmed by Vishal Bhardwaj and is slated for a theatrical release on February 13, 2026.
