UAE, Mar 9: Debris from an intercepted Iranian projectile fell on a petrol facility in the emirate of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates, the emirate’s media office said on Sunday night. Authorities reported that no injuries were recorded in the incident.
Officials did not clarify whether the intercepted projectile was a missile or a drone. Earlier, a fire had also broken out in the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone on Friday after the interception of an Iranian drone, according to the Emirates News Agency.

The Ministry of Defence (United Arab Emirates) said early Monday that it was responding to incoming missile and drone threats from Iran, though it did not specify the intended targets.

Later updates from the health ministry, reported by the Bahrain News Agency, said at least 32 people were injured, including four in serious condition.
Video footage circulating online suggested that a facility belonging to the state-run Bahrain Petroleum Company may also have been hit by a drone early Monday, sparking a fire. Authorities had sounded sirens shortly before the incident, though officials have not yet confirmed whether the fire was directly caused by the attack.
In Iraq, air defence systems at Baghdad International Airport were activated after rockets and drones targeted a US diplomatic facility near the airport, according to police sources cited by Reuters.
The projectiles were reportedly intercepted by the C-RAM defence system protecting the facility. Meanwhile, the Kurdish city of Erbil also came under a drone attack, with local footage showing air defence systems intercepting an incoming drone.
In Kuwait, the Kuwaiti National Guard announced that it had shot down an Iranian drone. The country’s defence minister said the military was actively working to intercept missiles and drones launched toward the Gulf state.
Authorities also reported a fire at an electrical plant in Kuwait, though officials have not confirmed whether it was linked to debris from intercepted drones or missiles.
The incidents come amid escalating regional tensions involving Iran and several Gulf countries, prompting heightened air defence activity across the region.
