Mangalore: Catechism Day Celebrated at Mother of God Church, Shakthinagar

Mangalore, Mar 5: Catechism day celebrations were held at Shaktinagar on Sunday March 4 under the leadership of Parish Pastoral Parishad. Children from KG to PUC presented meaningful faith strengthening programmes related to their respective class lessons.

Later members of various associations too presented moral based cultural programme. Top scorers in the class level and parish level were honoured. Winners of various catechism day competitions were given prizes. As token of gratitude, the parish priest honoured the teachers with gifts and flowers.Those who attended daily for catechism were also given gifts.

The Director of Family life service Centre Fr Santhosh Rodrigues was the chief guest land Fr Ronald Prakash D'Souza director YCS, Fr Vijay Victor Lobo, director Vocation center, Br Kevin Fernandes, OCD, Denis Machado vice president were present and distributed the prizes to the winners.

Parish Pastoral members and donors of the programme were remembered with gratitude with a rose. Grags Pinto and Oleen Priya Castelino anchored the whole programme. Manisha Fernandes welcomed the gathering, Marian Sodality children led the prayer service with a prayer dance and Joel Menezes thanked the whole gathering.

More than 400 parishioners were present for the programme.
