Stay true to original ‘Ramayan’ or risk rejection, says Vindu Dara Singh

Mumbai, Apr 3: Actor Vindu Dara Singh has praised the teaser of ‘Ramayana’, starring Ranbir Kapoor, while cautioning filmmakers against deviating from the original narrative that audiences hold close to their hearts.

Vindu, son of veteran actor Dara Singh who famously portrayed Hanuman in Ramayan, described the teaser as visually impressive but stressed the importance of staying faithful to the classic version.

“The teaser is fantastic. But the Ramayan created by Ramanand Sagar is deeply embedded in people’s minds. If this film matches that, it will be a record-breaking hit,” he said.

He warned that excessive creative liberties could backfire. “If too many changes are made or elements are exaggerated, audiences may not accept it,” he added, underlining the emotional connection viewers have with the original story.

At the same time, Vindu praised producer Namit Malhotra for the film’s grand visuals and special effects, calling them “superb”. However, he reiterated that straying from the essence of the original ‘Ramayan’ could pose a major risk for the film.
