Gaza, Apr 15: At least 11 Palestinians, including two children, were killed in a series of Israeli attacks across the war-hit Gaza Strip, marking continued violence despite a ceasefire with Hamas that came into effect on October 10 last year.
According to Gaza’s Civil Defence and reports by Reuters, a three-year-old child and a 14-year-old were among those killed in strikes in northern Gaza on Tuesday.

Civil Defence spokesperson Mahmoud Basal said four people, including the toddler, were killed in an Israeli strike targeting a police vehicle in Gaza City. Gaza’s Interior Ministry confirmed that Israeli warplanes hit the vehicle in the city centre, resulting in multiple casualties, including a police officer, and injuring at least nine civilians, some critically.
In a separate incident earlier in the day, one person was killed by Israeli fire in the Beit Lahiya area.
Later in the evening, multiple casualties were reported after an Israeli strike near an intersection in the Shati refugee camp. Medics at Al-Shifa Hospital confirmed receiving five bodies following what they described as a drone attack involving two missiles that hit a group of people near a café. Several others were also wounded in the strike.
Despite the ceasefire agreement, Israeli forces have continued near-daily strikes across the enclave. Health authorities in Gaza reported that nearly 760 Palestinians have been killed since the truce began.
The Gaza Ministry of Health further stated that 2,111 people have been injured in attacks since the ceasefire announcement, while the total death toll since the start of the conflict on October 7, 2023, has risen to 72,336.
The continued strikes underscore the fragile nature of the ceasefire, with hostilities persisting even amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to stabilise the region.
