Mumbai, May 1: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has taken fans by surprise with his cameo appearance in Raja Shivaji, where he portrays Jiva Mahala, sparking a wave of reactions across social media platforms.

Clips and screenshots of Salman’s entry have gone viral, showcasing the actor in an intense avatar — donning an orange turban and kurta while wielding a Maratha sword. His brief yet impactful presence has been widely praised, with many fans calling it one of the film’s standout moments.

Though the cameo was kept under wraps, speculation had been rife for months about Salman playing Jiva Mahala in the Riteish Deshmukh directorial. Visuals shared online show Salman making a dramatic entry alongside Riteish, who essays the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Fans were quick to react, with many lauding his screen presence. Several users described his entry as “power-packed” and “massy,” while others termed it a highlight that overshadowed the rest of the film.

Earlier, Riteish Deshmukh had revealed that Salman himself had expressed interest in being part of the project. During a casual conversation, Salman reportedly insisted on joining the film despite no role being initially planned for him, eventually leading to the creation of the character.

Backed by Jio Studios and produced by Jyoti Deshpande along with Genelia Deshmukh under Mumbai Film Company, Raja Shivaji is a historical drama based on the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film traces his early years and his mission to establish Swarajya.

The film also features a strong ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Bhagyashree, Mahesh Manjrekar, and Boman Irani.
