Mumbai, May 13: Actor Sheizaan Khan says his character Siddhu in the television drama Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan brings a refreshing emotional depth rarely seen in traditional TV male leads.
The actor shared that Siddhu’s defining trait lies in his ability to prioritise another person’s dignity, peace and happiness above his own feelings, making him stand apart from conventional romantic heroes on television.
In the upcoming storyline, viewers will see Indu Rani, played by Shraddha Jaiswal, plotting against Siddhu and Sneha by locking them inside a room in an attempt to tarnish Sneha’s reputation and sabotage her marriage to Shantanu, portrayed by Shehzad Shaikh.
Her plan revolves around creating the impression among villagers that Siddhu and Sneha spent the night together. However, despite having an opportunity that could potentially disrupt Sneha’s relationship and bring her back into his life, Siddhu chooses to protect her honour instead.
Before the door is opened, Siddhu quietly hides himself to ensure that no one discovers he was in the room with Sneha. The moment highlights his willingness to sacrifice his personal desires for her well-being and social dignity.
Speaking about the emotional complexity of the role, Sheizaan said Siddhu’s love is based on selflessness rather than possession.
“Personally, I feel Siddhu stands apart from typical TV male leads because his love is deeply rooted in selflessness, respect, and understanding boundaries. He understands that love is not about possession or winning someone back, but about protecting the other person’s peace, dignity, and happiness,” the actor said.
He further added that Siddhu’s silent sacrifice reflects a deeper understanding of love and respect.
“Even when Siddhu gets a moment where he could think about bringing Sneha back into his life, he chooses her well-being over his own emotions and silently steps back. That is what makes him television’s most respectful lover,” he said.
