Shirdi, May 23: Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday assured uninterrupted diesel supply to farmers amid reports of fuel shortages in rural parts of Maharashtra and warned against black-marketing in the name of farmers.
Speaking to reporters in Shirdi, Fadnavis said petrol and diesel were currently not easily available in several rural areas and directed district administrations to ensure adequate diesel supply for agricultural activities.
The Chief Minister said instructions had been issued to all district collectors and divisional commissioners to make diesel available wherever required for farmers.

He also cautioned against fuel black-marketing, noting that some parts of the state had witnessed a sudden 20 to 30 per cent rise in fuel sales.
Maharashtra has reportedly recorded around a 20 per cent increase in petrol and diesel sales during the first fortnight of May amid panic buying triggered by fears of supply disruptions due to the ongoing West Asia crisis.
Fadnavis arrived in Shirdi to participate in the inauguration of a defence and aerospace complex. He travelled on the Vande Bharat Express and praised the train service, describing it as a “unique gift” from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said the train experience was comfortable and productive, adding that he was able to clear files and interact with several people during the journey.
Speaking about the defence complex, Fadnavis said Shirdi had now emerged as a symbol of both devotion and strength.
He added that Indian spirituality integrates devotion with strength and remarked that only strong nations are capable of establishing peace.
