Chennai, May 27: The makers of director Dharani Rasendran’s upcoming film starring Sasikumar have officially completed shooting for the project, the production team announced on Wednesday.

Backed by J.K. Film International and produced by J. Kamalakannan, the yet-to-be-titled film has generated significant curiosity ever since its announcement, especially following the success of Dharani Rasendran’s critically acclaimed historical drama Yaathisai.

According to sources associated with the project, Sasikumar will portray an Indian National Army (INA) officer in the film, which is set during the British colonial era. The actor is said to be playing a powerful and intense role expected to be one of the highlights of the movie.

The ensemble cast also includes Samuthirakani, Kishore, Seyon, Bhavani Sre, and Sshivada in important roles. Actor Ashok Selvan will reportedly appear in a special cameo, adding further excitement around the project.

Although filming has now concluded, the team is entering an extensive post-production phase, particularly due to the large-scale visual effects work planned for the film. Sources indicate that the makers are investing considerable effort into crafting a visually rich cinematic experience.

The technical crew includes cinematographer Sethu Murugavel, while music is being composed by Sarthak Kalyani. Editing responsibilities are being handled by Mahendran Ganesan.

At the time of the project’s launch, producer J. Kamalakannan had said that entering the film industry had been a long-cherished dream and expressed confidence in collaborating with Dharani Rasendran, whom he described as a filmmaker who made a strong impact with “Yaathisai.”

He also stated that the production house aims to support meaningful cinema and encourage emerging filmmaking talent through content-driven projects.
