Hyderabad, Jun 6: The makers of Telugu star Ram Pothineni’s upcoming directorial debut, tentatively titled #RAPO23, on Saturday announced that acclaimed cinematographer Thirunavukarasu, popularly known as Tirru, has joined the film’s technical team.
The production house RAPO Cinematics confirmed the development through its official social media handle, describing Tirru as a master craftsman set to shape the visual tone of the film’s neo-noir world. The post also highlighted Ram Pothineni’s dual role as both lead actor and director, with Krishna Pothineni producing the project under the same banner.

The film, which marks Ram Pothineni’s first venture as a director, was officially announced earlier this year on his birthday. It has already generated strong buzz in the Telugu film industry due to its unconventional concept and genre.
Billed as a psychological action thriller, the project introduces Ram’s character named Veera, described as a “lone wolf” navigating a dark and intense narrative landscape. The actor is also expected to appear in a completely transformed avatar for the role.
The announcement poster showcased a gritty and stylised visual theme, featuring Ram in a leather jacket, seen from behind, with a striking red “V” dominating the background. The design hinted at themes of rebellion, isolation and psychological depth, set against a crime-heavy urban backdrop.
According to sources close to the production, #RAPO23 is a story conceived by Ram Pothineni himself and is being positioned as a bold creative step in his career. The team has described the film as a fresh and experimental attempt in Telugu cinema’s psychological thriller space.
The film’s shooting is expected to begin soon, with the makers aiming for a December 2026 release. Further updates on the cast and crew are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
