Mumbai, Jun 11: Daijiworld Media Network – MumbaiThe trailer of Welcome To The Jungle was unveiled on Thursday, promising a blend of comedy, action and adventure, while also marking an emotional occasion as actor Akshay Kumar paid tribute to his late friend and co-star Pankaj Dheer.

During the trailer launch event, Akshay recalled his long association with Pankaj Dheer, revealing that the veteran actor had played the villain in his debut film as a leading man.

“I want to also mention a very dear friend of mine in this film, Pankaj Dheer Sahab, who was with me in my first film. He played the villain opposite me. As all of you know, this is his last film. I just want to mention him today. I love you, Pankaj, wherever you are,” Akshay said.

The tribute moved many at the event, given the decades-long friendship between the two actors. Akshay and Pankaj Dheer had first worked together in Saugandh, which marked Akshay Kumar’s debut as a lead actor in Hindi cinema.

Apart from the emotional moment, the trailer showcased a large-scale entertainer set in a jungle backdrop, featuring a series of comic misunderstandings, bizarre situations and action-packed sequences.

The film stars Akshay Kumar alongside Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Jackie Shroff, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Johny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda.

The ensemble cast also includes veteran actors Farida Jalal, Sudesh Berry, Puneet Issar and the late Pankaj Dheer.

The film is expected to be a major addition to the popular comedy franchise, while also serving as Pankaj Dheer’s final appearance on the big screen.
