Mumbai, Jun 14: Actor Imran Khan made a rare public appearance alongside his girlfriend Lekha Washington at the 25th anniversary celebration of the iconic film Lagaan, held in Mumbai on Saturday.
The actor, best known for films such as Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na and Delhi Belly, arrived at the event dressed in a classic black pantsuit paired with a white shirt and bow tie. Lekha Washington complemented the occasion in a yellow saree teamed with a blue sleeveless blouse.

Imran, nephew of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, has reportedly been in a relationship with Lekha Washington since 2020. The relationship began after his separation and subsequent divorce from former wife Avantika Malik in 2019. The former couple share a daughter, Imara.
Although Imran and Lekha had known each other for years through common social circles, reports suggest that they grew closer during the COVID-19 lockdown period. Their relationship first drew significant public attention when the two were spotted together at a social gathering in 2024.
Meanwhile, Imran recently appeared on actress Parineeti Chopra's podcast "Mom Talks," where he reflected on his experience as a father.
Speaking about parenting, the actor said that raising his daughter has always been a matter of personal joy rather than responsibility.
“I did not view it as my duty; I always saw it as my privilege. The time I spent with my child is something I wanted for myself. It’s not about fulfilling a role but about experiencing joy, love and connection,” he said.
Imran also emphasised that parenting should not be viewed through the lens of gender, stressing that emotional involvement and caregiving are responsibilities shared equally by parents.
The anniversary event for "Lagaan" brought together several prominent names from the film industry to celebrate the enduring legacy of the Oscar-nominated sports drama. Among those present were Salman Khan, Kajol, Juhi Chawla, Mukesh Chhabra, Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal.
The celebration marked 25 years of "Lagaan," a landmark film that remains one of Indian cinema’s most acclaimed productions and continues to enjoy a special place in Bollywood history.
