Bengaluru, Jun 21: The much-awaited film ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups’ starring Kannada superstar Yash has finally locked its release date. The film will now arrive in theatres worldwide on August 26, 2026, the makers announced.
The film, officially announced in 2023 by Monster Mind Creations and Venkat K Narayana’s KVN Productions, went on floors in October 2024.
The movie was initially scheduled for release on April 10, 2025, but was postponed due to delays in production. The makers later announced March 19, 2026, coinciding with Eid, Gudi Padwa and Ugadi celebrations, as the release date.

However, amid the US-Iran conflict and the resulting Gulf crisis, the release was postponed again from March 19 to June 4.
The makers had earlier stated that the film was complete and the delay was due to aligning global distribution plans and partnerships.
“Toxic is complete, and we are currently aligning global distribution and partnerships. In light of this, we have decided to recalibrate our release timeline,” the makers said in a statement.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film features a star-studded cast including Yash, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth.
The film has been written and shot in Kannada and English and will also release in dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.
Speaking earlier about the repeated delays, Yash said fans often expect a fixed timeline once shooting begins, but large-scale productions require time to reach the right level.
‘Toxic’ marks Yash’s next major project after the success of the K.G.F: Chapter 2 franchise and has generated significant anticipation among fans.
