Mumbai, Aug 1: Mumbai Police have externed 12 history-sheeters from the city limits for one year as part of a drive to curb criminal activities in the northern suburbs.
The action followed a review of habitual offenders with criminal antecedents in areas between Dahisar East and Goregaon East.

Police said the 12 individuals were repeatedly booked in cognisable offences, including threatening citizens and shopkeepers with weapons, assault, extortion, verbal abuse, theft, terrorising residents and creating law-and-order problems.
Based on the review, Zonal Deputy Commissioner of Police Gajanan Rajmane issued externment orders against the accused, barring them from entering Mumbai for one year.
Police said if any of the externed offenders are found within the city limits during the externment period, they will face legal action.
The externed persons have been identified as Jatin Dhodi (28), Shaukat Ali Shaikh (51), Asif Pathan (30), Satishkumar Soni (38), Adesh Lagade (21), Kapil Mane (29), Sujit Mishra (38), Rameshwar Thenge (35), Jagdish Joshi (37), Parvez Patel (34), Sagar Nigudkar (32) and Jai Patel (25).
