Mangaluru, Aug 17: Milagres College of Nursing organized a Hepatitis Day awareness programme on August 16 at the Outpatient Department of Concetta Hospital, Kinnigoli. The programme was conducted with the objective of creating awareness about hepatitis, its modes of transmission, prevention, early detection, and treatment. A total of 60 people attended the programme.
The programme was graced by the presence of the chief guest, Dr Venkatesh B M, professor and former HOD, department of medicine, Father Muller Medical College, Dr Diana Lobo, principal of Milagres College of Nursing, Dr Sr Jeevitha and Sr Renisha Britto, administrators of Concetta Hospital, and Dr Shawn was also present on the occasion.

















The programme commenced with a prayer led by the 2nd Year BSc nursing students, seeking God's blessings for the successful conduct of the programme. The inauguration was marked by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries, symbolizing the beginning of the awareness programme.
The welcome speech was delivered by Annie Sanjana, who warmly welcomed the gathering. Rakshitha served as the compered and coordinated the proceedings of the programme.
The chief guest, Dr Venkatesh B M, addressed the gathering and explained the importance of hepatitis awareness, its causes, modes of transmission, preventive measures, early diagnosis, and appropriate treatment.
As part of the awareness programme, the 2nd year BSc nursing students presented an educational skit highlighting the importance of hepatitis awareness and prevention. This was followed by health education on hepatitis provided by the nursing students, focusing on preventive measures, healthy practices, early detection, and the importance of seeking medical attention when required.
The event was informative, interactive, and meaningful, contributing to the promotion of better health awareness among the community.
