Karan Singh says The Traitors pushed him beyond comfort zone

Mumbai, Aug 18: Magician Karan Singh, who was recently eliminated from the reality show The Traitors along with Soundous Mouafakir, Harman Singha and Munawar Faruqui, has opened up about his experience on the show, saying it pushed him beyond his comfort zone and helped him forge new connections.

Speaking to reporters after his elimination, Karan said he has always enjoyed experimenting with different forms of performance and taking on new challenges.

“For me as a performer and an artist, my thing is I always want to try new things,” he said, noting that while much of his work involves performing on stage and mind-reading, he wanted to explore something different.

Karan said he had previously tried stand-up comedy on a French show and appeared on India’s Got Latent, and saw The Traitors as another opportunity to step into unfamiliar territory.

“It’s way out of my comfort zone. It was so much fun,” he said.

The magician said the show also gave him an opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds. While he already knew some contestants, he met several others for the first time and developed what he described as “great connections”.

“I think everybody has some very unique qualities to them,” he said.

‘Everyone is unique, yet similar’

Karan also reflected on how contestants’ personalities evolved within the competitive environment.

He said the experience reinforced his belief that while people often describe themselves as unique, there are also common traits that connect them.

“If everybody says that they're unique, isn't that what makes them completely like everyone else?” he said.

Karan added that he enjoyed observing these similarities among contestants from different walks of life.

The latest season of The Traitors features 21 contestants from entertainment, television, social media, food and other fields, including Munawar Faruqui, Mallika Sherawat, Shweta Tiwari, Rhea Chakraborty, Abhishek Malhan, Shalini Passi and Ranveer Brar.

Built around trust, deception and strategic alliances, the reality show requires contestants to identify the hidden Traitors while attempting to avoid elimination themselves.

The new season has generated buzz with confrontations, surprise eliminations and shifting friendships, making the competition an increasingly unpredictable contest of strategy and betrayal.
