Mumbai, Aug 19: Actor Akshaye Khanna is set to take on a distinctive mythological role in the upcoming film Mahakali, where he will reportedly portray Shukracharya, the revered guru of the Asuras.
The film is part of filmmaker Prasanth Varma’s Cinematic Universe, which began with the mythology-inspired superhero film Hanu-Man. Mahakali is expected to expand the universe with another story rooted in Indian mythology.

The makers have announced that the first major glimpse of Mahakali will be unveiled on August 24. RKD Studios shared the announcement on social media with the message, “24th August - The End Begins.”
Akshaye Khanna’s reported portrayal of Shukracharya has already generated interest, particularly after his look from the film was unveiled. Known for taking up varied and challenging characters, the actor is expected to bring a distinct interpretation to the mythological figure.
The film also stars Bhoomi Shetty and Rohit Saraf in key roles. Other prominent actors, including Sriya Reddy, Khushbu Sundar, Rakesh Bedi, Samuthirakani, Rajat Kapoor, Nassar and Murali Sharma, are also associated with the project.
With the first glimpse scheduled for August 24, anticipation is building around the film and Khanna’s role in the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe.
