Lokayukta teams conduct surprise visits to six Grama Panchayats

Mangaluru, Sept 9: In connection with a suo motu case registered at the Lokayukta central office, Lokayukta officials on Wednesday, September 9, conducted surprise visits to six gram panchayats in Dakshina Kannada, Sullia and Belthangady taluks.

The six grama panchayats visited were Uppinangady and Nekkilaady in Puttur taluk, Kalmadka and Guthigar in Sullia taluk, and Ujire and Laila in Belthangady taluk.

The surprise inspections were conducted under the guidance of B P Dinesh Kumar, superintendent of police, Karnataka Lokayukta, Mangaluru division, Mangaluru.

The team comprised Dr Gana P Kumar, deputy superintendent of police, Mangaluru Lokayukta unit; Suresh Kumar P and police inspector Bharathi G; Dhanya Nayak, deputy superintendent of police, Karwar Lokayukta unit; police inspector Ravi N N; Hala Murthy Rao V S, deputy superintendent of police, Udupi Lokayukta unit; and police inspector Manjunath, along with other staff members.

The officials conducted surprise inspections at the six grama panchayat offices and took note of deficiencies found there.

The Lokayukta officials will submit a report on the shortcomings identified during the inspections to the Lokayukta central office.
