Dubai: Overwhelming Response to GVOM Audition, Singing Contest

Dubai, May 2: An exciting time awaits singing talents, both young and old, from the Konkani speaking people of Mangalore and Goa.

Mangalore Konkans Dubai has received overwhelming response for their much-awaited 'Konkani Gayan Spordho 2012’ to be held on Friday May 4 at the Dubai Gem Private School (Opp K M Trading Co and Al Nasr Leisureland).

The event will commence at 10:30 am with solo songs in male and female categories. The response to this contest has been tremendous as these singers would have a golden chance to travel to Doha, in the month of October this year, to contest for the coveted crown of Gulf Voice of Mangalore, at the Gulf level.
 
The spirit and excitement in this adult solo category will reach its climax when six winners from each category will be announced for the semi-finals of GVOM 2012 to be held in October 2012 in the UAE.

The noon session will commence at 3 pm and will consist of solo songs by children and teens as well as duet and group singing. The group category will be yet another entertaining and competitive contest which will undoubtedly mesmerize the crowds.

As the final round of Gulf Voice of Mangalore 2010 was in Dubai, there is already lots of excitement among the Konkani speaking community. The contestants have taken the competition very seriously, preparing well by practicing meticulously and attending voice training sessions conducted by professionals in the field. The organizers have assured that high standard of singing is expected and to do justice, they have gone beyond the borders of the UAE to choose qualified panel of judges.

The event is supported by M/s Regent Technologies, Dubai.

The entry for the event is free and a light lunch would be served.
