Rajkot: Cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara weds Pooja


RAJKOT, Feb 14 (TOI): Indian cricket's latest sensation Cheteshwar Pujara began the new innings of his life when he tied the nuptial knot with Pooja Pabari, daughter of an affluent businessman of Rajkot, on Wednesday.

Cheteshwar, affectionately called Chintu, got married at a ceremony that was closely guarded at a private party plot on Wednesday evening. Media-persons were kept away from the venue by bouncers hired by the family.

Pujara had got engaged to Pooja, an MBA in retail marketing, on November 6 last year. Pujara has been selected for the upcoming home series against Australia.

The 'hast melap' ceremony was performed at 8.15 pm at the private plot located on Kalawad Road. On Tuesday evening, there was a 'sanji' ceremony where woman sang traditional marriage songs. This was followed by the 'dandiya-raas' at his house on 150-feet Ring Road.

The reception will be held on February 14 in city where many top cricketers are likely to attend
