Arsenal's Denilson unsure of future

Rio de Janeiro, Feb 17 (IANS): Arsenal midfielder Denilson admits his future remains uncertain as Sao Paulo continue their bid to secure the 25-year-old on a permanent contract.

Denilson has been on loan at the Brazilian club since 2011 after falling out of favour with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. Last month the former Brazil Under-17 international expressed his desire to remain at Sao Paulo after his loan deal expires June 30, reports Xinhua.

But he revealed Saturday that he is no closer to cutting ties with the north London club, which he joined as an 18-year-old in 2006 for a fee of 3.4 million pounds.

"I think a deal could be made but I want to concentrate on playing football and let my lawyer and Sao Paulo look after the situation. I feel good here and I am happy. My goal is to play every game possible and let things take their course," Denilson said.

Denilson has made 96 first-team appearances for Arsenal and scored seven goals since his October 2006 debut.
