Sports administrator shot in Guyana


Georgetown (Guyana), April 16 (IANS/CMC): Guyana police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of leading sports administrator, Orin Joseph, who was shot outside his home here.

Joseph, the president of the Georgetown Domino Association, was shot by a gunman outside his home in South Ruimveldt Sunday night, a relative has confirmed.

Joseph was shot a few doors away from his Gaulding Street residence, Demerara Waves Online News has reported.

The shooting is reported to have occurred just before mid-night during a power outage in the area.

Information is still sketchy and it's not clear whether Joseph was in his vehicle at the time of shooting.
