Mangalore, Jun 18: ‘Montage - Mullerpulse 2013’, magazine of Father Muller Medical College (FMMC) was released by newly-electzd MLA J R Lobo at a ceremony held at Decennial Memorial hall of the College here on Tuesday June 18.

Giselle Mehta was the guest of honour for the release function while Fr Patrick Rodrigues, director of FMMCI, Fr Denis D’Sa, director of FMMC, Dr J T P Alva, dean, Dr Princy L Palatty, staff editor, Deepak Varghese, editor, Sanjay George shared the dais.

The e-magazine was also released on the occasion by Giselle Mehta.

Addressing the students, J R Lobo said, "The magazine reminds me of the National Geographic magazine when compared to the picture clarity and other aspects. This shows students have diverse interests other than their professional studies, a fact which reflects through this magazine."

He further said, "It is not enough if you get specialization in a field, but what best you can give to society is what counts more. You need to be good doctors and have a good heart. When you add a human touch to your profession, that is being kind to patients, it will cure half of their diseases," he added.

"From my brief browsing of this magazine, I came to know that this magazine is divided between professional focus and creative endeavour," said Giselle Mehta.

Giselle also asked students to be open-minded and create awareness on various issues. She urged each one of them to be writers, as each individual have different forms of creativity in them.

Starting with a quote, Fr Patrick said reading makes a full man while writing makes a perfect man. "The institution has the best minds with lot of experience," he added.

Lauding the editorial team of the magazine for all their efforts, Fr Patrick asked the students to note down their experiences in writing so that the best can be given to society.

I have been closely associated with Father Muller's Charitable institutions for the past several decades. It was my privilege to be elected to The Governing Board of this prestigious body for over fifteen years and thereafter whenever I have been in Mangalore I have interacted with the management continuously. Father Patrick a graduate from India had his further studies in U.S.A. having earned a master's degree from a prestigious University in Health Care. He initially worked as assistant director almost twenty years ago and is back again for the past six years as the director and indeed has given an excellent account of himself ever since return to FMCI. On the Medical college side Father Denis D'Sa has been holding the reins and no doubt during the past few years there is an all round development. A lot of credit goes to Dr. Alva who has stood by FMCI and the Medical College has made rapid strides towards and all round growth.

It is good to see my friend J.R. Lobo sharing the dais along with Giselle who I know very well. I join several others in saying kudos to the management.
