The gold was seized from a passenger named Abdur Rahman Kunnil Abdul Khader, a resident of Thalangara, Kasaragod. He too arrived at Mangalore International Airport on Friday by the same flight from Dubai.

I think it is time to have a course on why you cannot smuggle gold through airports due the sophisticated/latest detectors/ scanners/ x ray machines these poor sods are still in 80's / 90's yes there has been lot of improvement in technology, but still it can be beaten but be creative guys think out of the box! Knowledge is the key!

I dont understand why all are generalizing people from Kasaragod while commenting. How can you all conveniently forget that there is a striking similarity among these culprits other than that they are from Kasaragod?

In earlier seizure I made a comment "These smugglers are mentally sick people and need immediate treatment". The different ideas adopted is an explanation of desperation to amass ill-gotten through illegal means. Such ideas only mentally sick people will get.

You are right Abdulla,They have constructed roads like inside Dubai Gold Souk(or olden Kalsanka-Manipal)!! We must appreciate, in Dubai it was 100 year old Road made worthy to the best possible!! In Mangalore newly constructed arrival/ departure is more chaotic!! There is U turn, there is one way, two way and if it rains most Chaotic!! Where is Vasudeva and who's planning it is??? Can they not manage proper two way traffic??? What kind of idea it is to put small concrete blocks and divide the road to the most unplanned manner??? Where are our ministers. MLA and MP's???? Come and see the glory of vehicular movement(without your waiting Chelas!!) in front of the so called Mangalore Airport when a couple of intl and domestic flights land (Intl Airport????) Take a break and make your claims!!!

As a citizen of India I would say that Mr. Chidambaram knew that this rubbish would happen. Even if 5 kgs of gold is caught the Custom guys record it as 2 kgs. Does Mr. Chidambaranm know about it ?

Laws are made. They are passed by Parliament. But what is the ground reality ? Isn't it Mr. Chidambarams and the idiocity of our MP's incl. Mangalore MP Naleen Kumar Kateel, who never uttered a word because he never knew or understood English ?

How smart people from Kasargod? There are lots of innovative ideas with them to smuggle gold into India. They could have even produced nuclear bomb, had they been sent to Baba Atomic Energy,Mumbai.Still, there may be some other ideas. But our custom officers are becoming more wise and wiser.Keep it up.One day we can build Mangalore airport with confiscated golds.
