Incheon, Sep 23 (IANS): Indian rowers Sawarn Singh Virk entered the final of the single sculls while double sculls and lightweight quadruple sculls teams also reached the finals of the 17th Asian Games at the Chungju Tangeum Lake Rowing Center here Tuesday.

Sawarn clinched first place in repechage 1 of the 2000 metre race in seven minutes and 10.93 seconds. The 24-year-old Indian finished ahead of Memo Memo of Indonesia, who took seven minutes and 13.38 seconds to complete the race.

The Indian double sculls team comprising Om Prakash and Dattu Baban Bhokanal took first place in repechage 2 of the event.

They registered six minutes and 40.77 seconds to finish ahead of South Korean pair Hwigwan Kim and Dosub Choi, who also made their way into the final on Thursday.

Men's lightweight quadruple team of Rakesh Raliya, Vikram Singh, Laxmi Narain Sonu and Shokendar Tomar took second position behind Indonesia in repechage 1 of the competition.

The Indian women's quadruple sculls team comprising Amanjot Kaur, Sanjukta Dung Dung, N. Sarita Devi and Navneet Kaur, however, finished fifth in repechage 1 with a timing of seven minutes and 51.39 seconds to enter final B, which is not a medal round.

All the finals will take place Thursday.
