Mangalore, Mar 2: District Fast Track and Sessions court has stayed the order of a lower court to banish one Farooq, son of Bavu Beary of Urpelpade near Karinje in Moodbidri.  The order was passed after Mangalore sub-divisional magistrate had filed a petition in the court seeking permission to banish Farooq.

It is alleged that Farooq is involved in anti-social activities and disturbing public peace at large.  His brother Azaruddin was shot dead by police while illegally transporting cattle sometime ago near Moodbidri.  The police had alleged that when they had tried to intercept the vehicle transporting cattle, Azaruddin had inured one of the police with a sabre.

Now it is complained that Farooq is trying to avenge his brother Azaruddin's death.  A total of 6 cases have been filed against him in Moodbidri police station. Taking to consideration all this, the sub-divisional magistrate had recommended banishment to Farooq.

However, Farooq had filed petition in the higher court seeking stay on the order.  After hearing both the sides, the district Fast Track and Sessions court has now stayed the order.
