Mangalore, Mar 2: Dravidian University in Kuppam in Andhra Pradesh has set up a chair exclusively dedicated to Tulu studies.

Head of Kannada Department in Mangalore University K Abhay Kumar attaching a copy of the inaugural invitation (the chair was inaugurated by Medical Education Minister D V S Acharya), informed that the university for the first time in the country has launched an initiative to study literature, and culture of Tulu one among the five Dravidian languages.

Abhay Kumar in a press release welcomed the initiative launched by University Vice Chancellor Prof Gangishetty Lakshminarayan and Registrar Prof P Rajashekar Reddy.
