Shimoga, Mar 19: Karnataka deputy chief minister B S Yediyurappa has favoured talks between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu chief ministers to find amicable solutions to the century-old Cauvery water-sharing dispute between two states.

Speaking to newspersons here on Monday, Yediyurappa has said that dispute between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu could be solved only through talks and favoured Karnataka CM H D Kumaraswamy and Tamil Nadu's M Karunanidhi come together and hold negotiations in solving the issue.

Yediyurappa who also holds the finance portfolio and presented his second budget in Karnataka assembly on Friday last has described it as development-oriented budget while ensuring social justice.

Reacting to JD (S) ministers' apprehension over the budget,  Yediyurappa said that he would talk to them and convince on it.

It may be recalled that some of the ministers belonging to coalition's JD (S) have aired their displeasure for not providing proper allocation to their departments and demanded a meeting of the co-ordination committee to discuss the issue.
